Photos from the Blue Diamond Epic Adventure Ride
November 12, 2005:
45 brave riders gathered to ride an epic adventure ride in the spirit of the classic Blue Diamond to Jean Benefit. Everyone
who participate braved the grueling 11 mile climb to the Wilson Tank Overlook and challenged the washed out Bonnie and Clyde
Trail in a 28.5 mile trek. In total 1250+ miles were ridden with over 141,000 feet of climbing by the hearty riders. With
the fire damage in the southern edge of the Cottonwood Valley, the Blue Diamond to Jean ride will not be held for several
more years -- at least until the BLM will again permit events.
I hope everyone had as much fun as I did. Next year (or next month even) we can do something similar and maybe get a
few volunteers to man a water station at the top of the climb.
Thanks for participating and I hope to see you on the trail. Just don't throw anything at me.
