Our Mission:
To maintain, protect, and expand trail access for recreational
use in an environmentally and socially responsible manner to insure quality recreational experiences for all. This will be
accomplished through the following types of activities: work cooperatively with Land Managers such as BLM and US Forest Service
to develop, protect and maintain trails, educate users on trail usage and care, sponsor a local chapter of the National Mountain
Bike Patrol, hold non-competitive events. Barta is a IMBA affiliated club.
Since our organization we have been very active in local mountain bike trail access issues including the following:
• Southern Nevada Lands Bill
• Sloan Canyon National Recreation Area Management Plan Development
• Spring Mountain Perimeter Trail Development
• Wetlands Park Trail Development
• Various trail projects in Cottonwood area of Red Rock NCA
Our History:
Barta was organized in 2001 from the remnants of the Las Vegas Trails Coalition in order to establish a mountain bike
trail advocacy organization in Southern Nevada. In the spring of 2004 Barta obtained the 501c-3 status from the Internal
Revenue Service.
In the coming years we are excited to be invloved as the Sloan Canyon NCA develops into a functioning conservation area
with many exciting trails for mountain bikers, equestrian, and hikers to enjoy. We are also dedicated to the completion
of the Spring Mountain Perimeter Trail Development and the further care and maintainance of our existing trail systems.
